A time to be thankful...

...unless you're a turkey.

Ahh yes, Thanksgiving week is upon us once again. A time to give thanks for life, for family, for health...and then eat enough food for three people. Here are some helpful holiday do's and don'ts:

1. Do approach the day with an attitude of thankfulness
2. Do eat with caution (think marathon rather than sprint)
3. Do wear loose clothing
4. Don't fill up on bread (even if they're delicious crescent rolls)
5. Do watch lots of football (if that's your thing)
6. Don't stay outside walking the dog (to get away from your family) - the high in Minneapolis for Thurs. is 28
7. Do save room for dessert...mmmmm, pumpkin pie, delicious pumpkin pie
8. Don't eat dessert ONLY
9. Don't feed the dog from the table...Titus
10. Do play games, swap stories, tell jokes, etc. with your loved ones

Feel free to add to this list (in your comments). Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Don't crack that old joke again about turkey making you sleepy. Turkey contains only trace amounts of tryptophan, less than chicken, and tryptophan is counteracted by protein so it doesn't have any effect. You're sleepy because you ate too much, you pig.
